After the band split at the end of 1979 Ford began a successful solo career in metal. She took vocal lessons and then released her debut solo album 'Out For Blood', followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford did not achieve anything with either of them, and she left the music scene for a decade. In 1988, she returned to the spotlight with her hit album "Lita". The single "Kiss me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. However, the popularity that she had achieved was short and over a long period of time she was absent from the world of entertainment. Then she returned with the release of "Black" in the year 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland' almost fifteen years after. Her most recent album 'Time Capsule' was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
